Professional photographs

It has been such a busy time recently as I round up my final collection and indeed, my degree.

Here are some of the photographs I have taken of my work for promotional purposes.

My collection of interior fabrics is quite a bold one, it combines statement prints with a painterly feel with simple floral hand printed linens. The bright colours are pared-down by the subtle tones of purple and grey. In some fabrics, bright colours are allowed to pop on dark backgrounds.

Inspired by India, originally I looked at paisley, henna and other such Indian traditions. However I found these very limiting as the patterns and motifs were often repeated. I began to look towards the surroundings in India. The mountains have been the biggest influence. The shapes and most importantly the colours have fed through to my project. I have specifically selected flowers that grow upon the mountains such as the Himalayas to draw.
This has resulted in a collection that is not obviously inspired by India, something of which was my aim.

To sit with these fabrics, mainly printed on linen, I have a range of wallpapers which I will upload soon.
