The deadline is looming...

The deadline for the last project of my first year of University is tomorrow and I thought I'd show you what I've done in my knitting rotation. I had to make a final piece, which could be whatever I wanted. At first, I thought about making a (pillbox) hat, but through lack of time (because the domestic knitting machine decided not to play), I opted for my second choice, a necklace. And if I'm honest, I'm glad I did the necklace, mainly because I think it's more wearable than a hat.

I am really happy with my necklace, I experienced new machines and ways of knitting, mainly the linker machine and the dubied knitting machine. After a slight bit of hesitation with the dubied machine, I got the hang of it quickly and really enjoyed it. I found it was much less temperamental than the domestic knitting machine!

Finally, here are the pictures of the final thing - I hope you like it! :) I'd love to know what you think so feel free to leave a comment!

Social Media rules the World

You can find me on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest if you wish! I use Twitter much more, however my textiles work goes on Facebook more. And obviously I just have an addiction to Pinterest so that's well used too! Please visit them, don't be shy! :)

Forming my knitting collection

Firstly, sorry about not posting in a while, I've been busy with my deadline as always when it gets to this time. However, I thought I'd keep you up to date with my knitting work.

I'm making a necklace for my final piece, I'll upload a picture of that when it's complete (probably Tuesday - maybe Monday if I exceed my expectations).

Here are a few snippets from my knitting samples which will be submitted for my final deadline of the year. In 5 days, I'll officially be a second year student!

I've also been experimenting with making the knitting more 3D using marbles (500 for £1 at the pound shop - definitely a bargain!).
